Hmmm, I have Cox out here in VA.... I just plugged their Cable modem
into my NIC and had everything go via dhcp. I'm currently working on
bringing up a machine that routes between my Cable Modem and my DSL
modem. My overall goal is to create a VPN between my friends and I using
the cable modem. I get static IP addresses with my DSL modem, so what
I'll end up doing is forward the traffic from one of those IP's over the
tunnel and to my friends box on the other side. The other thing we're
doing with the cable modems is creating a little distributed cache
system using Squid.
