Before I did the above, I typed apt-get dist-upgrade and it told me it 
wanted to get 101mb of stuff,; I said no.  Then I did the 
dselect/update/select/enter and it told me I had an ipchains dependency 
that needed more.  It's getting 110mb now ... 

I didn't see "samba" or any pkg starting with "smb" in the list of what it 
said it was going to get, though ...
