Yeah, Netspeed Inc.  The 6xx series was called the Homerunner.  IIRC
Cisco bought Netspeed primarily to provide Qwest with a cheap supply of
splitterles CPE modems.  I don't think Cisco even recouped costs on the
deal.  Qwest didn't upgrade their copper fast enough (too busy laying
fiber that will never "Ride The Light" TM), the modems were too damn
expensive, and the cable companies quickly caught up.  So Cisco never
sold enough of them.  'S why neither company is real invested in
maintaining support.

But I installed a few of the little blue monsters and have maintainance
contracts to service.  They have not been the fire-and-forget wonders
they were supposed to be.  I WAY undercharged.

I had an 827 for a while, someone offered me too much for it so I sold
it a couple of months ago.  I've got my eyes open for another.  But it
won't do Vdsl (another broken, I mean delayed, Qwest promise) or
G.SHDSL.  We'll need another expensive proprietary POS to make those
work, I'm sure.
