Shirley you jest! *30* minutes?? I think my XP machines take
a bit over 90 seconds "from power on" to a Windows login.
But, that includes POST and the probes of two or three SCSI
buses (notoriously slow operations with Windows HBA's).

"Worst" device, here, is my "universal" (PROM) programmer. It
boots off a 720KB (!) floppy and takes a full *6* minutes before
it's finished loading the software and ready to talk to the user.
720KB / 360 seconds... sheesh, you could probably *count* the
bits (by hand) as they crawl by!

<frown>

Heaven help us when these folks start designing engine control
units:
"Bob, why are you sitting in the car?"
"I'm heading out to buy a gallon of milk. I'm just waiting for the
car to finish booting up..."
