[Tfug] wicd can't make WEP connection via its configuration

John,

Are wanting to get wicd running or just being able to use wep?  I could 
not get it to work on my T43.  I have the following wireless packages 
installed:
wireless-tools
libiw29
iw
wireless-crda
linux-backports-modules-wireless-karmic-generic
