I have a WRT54GL that is pretty solid. I'm running dd-wrt on it without
problems. I hardly ever power cycle it.

Hi,

I'm looking for suggestions as to a "good" (ideal?) access point
to install above the ceiling (i.e., it must be able to run
without "manual" intervention -- though I can probably
cycle power easily).

I've used WRT54G, WRT54GX2 (bad), a belkin device, a <mumble>
DLink, etc. all with varying degrees of success. Note I don't
use wireless very often (preferring wired connections for
all but outdoor use) and "just want it to work". Needs to
draw less than 10W when operating (this should be easy to
meet).

Due to the location, rolling my own is not an option. And,
high temps would be an issue (some wireless *cards* that I
have used get upset at elevated T).

Thanks!
