[Tfug] new disk cycles over & over

Hi,

Anyone had a brand-new disk appear to run fine (dump/restored the old
os onto it), but I hear it making the "spin down" noise every 30
seconds or so.  Smartctl says it's fine, but I'm prone to return
it....

Anyone suspect an incompatibility of some kind?  I went thru @#%
figuring out my first sata3 controller couldn't handle sata3 drives a
couple years ago...but this controller has had sata3 disks on it
already...
