You can go with either i386 or amd64. The i386/x86/IA-32 build is 32-bit 
and should be compatible with everything. The amd64/EM64T build is 
64-bit and will work with all the Intel CPU's that have the EM64T 
extension (Core 2 Duo, Xeon, etc.). I believe the Debian amd64 build 
includes 32-bit compatibility libraries (ia32-libs?), so it should 
execute 32-bit binaries without a problem.

Maybe someone who's more familiar with this issue can chime in and help 
me out here. :-)
