[Tfug] ubuntu (troll?)

I'm afraid that the Psystar beastie is either history or will be soon. I
think I saw reports that Apple has squashed it in some fashion. Made
applesause of it, so to speak.

My philosophy is use the tool that meets your needs, "dark side" be damned.
On the desktop, I need something that "just works" (by-and-large) and I
don't need to fiddle much with it. I even use XP at times when I need
absolute no-fooling compatibility with someone else's XP stuff. For my
instrumentation and processing, I get down-and-dirty with the bits and
bytes so my needs are (1) cheap hardware and software and (2) all the dirty
details of the OS easy to get at and manipulate. Linux meets this need
better than any other OS at this time.
