Yeah, well I'm anal about left-to-right data flow, and if it means it costs
me 23 nanoseconds of extra CPU to run cat, tough!

Amen to that.  This is exactly what I'm looking for.  I had hopes for the
pyUNO thing, but it doesn't appear quite ready-for-prime-time.
