Perhaps this article will help you:

I am a fan of OS X so I haven't even tried to run Linux right off the box. I have Parallels and a little extra memory so I can run Windows, FreeBSD, and SUSE. I have only good things to say about the experience so far...

Thanks,

Subject: [Tfug] iMac G5 and Linux

Just thought I take a stab here, anyone using Linux on a iMac G5,
believe me, I am TRYING.

I have tried using the followings, Ubuntu 6.06 LTS, Debian PPC 4.0
('Etch'), Fedora Core 6, and Gentoo.

At least with Gentoo, I get to the console mode, but it doesn't see my
hardware, LiveCD only, and will only boot with
'video=ofonly' in place.

The video used during installation is 800 by 600, thousands of color
setting.

My iMac G5 is third generation with iSight.

Thanks for your time,

Wayde
