OK -- I'm getting there. I realized a little while ago that I didn't
even have dhcpcd installed, so I did that. We came across a reference in
the dhcpcd documentation about how it doesn't work alone with Slackware
and needs the pump program. I don't have pump either, but I'll pick it
up tomorrow by finding and installing it. Then maybe I can get a correct
IP address for this to work. Thanks Harry and all of you who responded
to my questions today. All great suggestions so far.
