What Ronald Sutherland meant when he said "Are you using M$ domain
server and dhcp" was, basically, when the computers boot up and get an
IP address automatically via DHCP, are they also registering their
hostname with a DNS server with dynamic DNS (basically so when their IP
changes in DHCP, DNS is automatically updated too)

Another thing you can do is enable the Samba server to be a WINS server,
then push that setting out with DHCP. Smaba fully supports being a "real
Windows" WINS server.

You can fix this two ways - either setup dynamic DNS, either on Windows
or on Unix, or you can run a WINS server (which entails just turning on
a config option in your smb.conf)
