[Tfug] First boot after Fedora install = error 15

I booted from the first CD of Fedora Core 4 then did the remainder of
the install from a Stanford Univ. mirror. I found lots of "error 15"
hits in Google but most didn't apply. One suggestion said to boot to
rescue mode and type: chroot /mnt/sysimage

That got me a "segmentation fault". Searching for "segmentation fault"
in Google got even more hits than for "error 15". Anybody have a
suggestion?
