[Tfug] Mandrake 10 networking setup

Hi,

Can anyone give me any general hints about configuring basic network 
connections and maybe Samba with Mandrake 10.  I know the ifconfig and 
route stuff but I am not familiar with whatever GUI or other such higher 
level stuff there might be.  I will need to transfer any information of 
this sort to users who might not be as comfortable with the basic low 
level stuff.

I didn't install it but it didn't seem to set up enough to connect when 
installed.

A quick Google did tell me that /etc/sysconfig/... will be somewhat 
equivalent to Debian's /etc/network.

There are two or three machines of various age x86 types I will need to 
configure.  I haven't seen them in a while.  Any hints would be appreciated.
