[Tfug] linux distro including staroffice 7? or how to read wordperfect docs on linux? or what's up with sun's java desktop

You might take a look at KWord, as well.  I've not used it much, but the 
last time I was in there (I just dbl checked to make sure), there was a 
filter to save as word perfect; I'd assume that if they have the filter 
to write wp, they can probably read it, too.  To what degree, I don't 
know as I really don't have WP handy. Additionally, Kword can save in 
the OOwriter format, so, if you like OO, you can use WP as an 
intermediary to get your WP docs from WP to the OO format.
