[Tfug] linux distro including staroffice 7? or how to read
wordperfect docs on linux? or what's up with sun's java desktop

I'm about to buy staroffice 7 so that my wife can import wordperfect
docs produced at her office on her laptop that now runs fedora core 2
(possibly much to her dismay -- but it must be better than a win me
install that decided not to boot anymore). Is there another easy way
for her to import those docs on linux? (i actually have corel
wordperfect 8 for linux (WINE based) but it is buggy to the extent of
truncating documents along with their backup files -- which I found out
the hard way 3 times).
So since i'm going to shell out some cash for linux software (something
i haven't done since crossover office 1), i'd like to get the most bang
for my buck, so i figured i could get a distro maybe including support
or other apps for about the same price as staroffice 7 alone ($80).
does anyone know of a linux distribution that includes staroffice 7?
It looks like Sun's Java Desktop does have staroffice 7 (along with some
other interesting stuff), but i wonder if i'll be able to install SO 7
from java desktop on fedora core 2. Does Java Desktop use RPM's or
what? Does its packages have normal dependencies? Basically, what's up
with packages on Java Desktop, and specifically, what's up with its
staroffice packages?
Thanks for the help.
