Open K3B. file, new project, new data project, drag text file down, then 
hit the burn icon.

Then I get the following:
Size calculated:48 (98304bytes)
Starting simulation at 4X speed
MKSIOFS finished successfully
Starting in 2seconds
Starting in 1 second
Starting in 0 seconds
Sending CUE sheets
CDrecord returned an unknown error (code255)
Unknown error 255
Then the CD ejects.
