[Tfug] Debian updating with error "perl: warning: Setting locale failed."

Doing just about any Debian update or install with apt on my laptop I get 
these errors constantly:

perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
        LANGUAGE = (unset),
        LC_ALL = (unset),
        LC_COLLATE = "us",
        LANG = "en_US"
    are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

Things tend to install correctly (mostly, I'm having some issues I'll be 
posting to the list soon) but these errors occur everywhere.

Being the lazy^D^D^D^Dbusy person I am, I thought I'd throw this out on 
the list and see if someone else knows the answer before I spend the time 
looking it up ;-)

(Oh, Debian sid this box be.... yar...)
