Ah yes. I learned more about how to program (in Fortran, of course) by
taking a course in machine-code programming and CPU design than I did from
any other "Computer Science" course I took. I knew several "Mel" types in
bygone years (late '60s/early '70s on Big Iron, late '70s/early'80s on
newfangled microprocessor systems), but darned few of late.
