OK, ok... thanks for all the help....

I think I finally figured it out... do anchor tags (i.e. [a name="#top"]) have 
to have a to have a close? There is no "link" to close... you do have to 
close a normal [a href=] though...

There are 5 different anchor tags in this page, all in completely different 
cells of different tables.... I just happen to get rid of one and the 
embedded link works just like it should! Nevermind that it had never been a 
problem before.... and there are mutliple other links in text (though not 
inside a [p] tag) that work fine..... Grrrrrrr
