I bought my girlfriend a Archos Jukebox 20 GB HDD player last christmas  
and it works fine with Linux. It had a USB 2.0 interface and the file  
transfers were very fast. The reason I used the past-tense in the  
statement is because the mp3 player itself stopped working... the display  
got screwed after a few weeks and I had to return it. So why do I post  
this?... tis because I'm just warning you against Archos mp3 players. I've  
seen simlar stories on epinions.com. I'd say spend the money and get an  
ipod... all my friends who have it have had no problems with it... dunno  
if it works well with linux though.
