[Tfug] A LUG for UA?

It might be worth trying but, frankly, my expectation is that there
wouldn't be sufficient demand.  TFUG is the dominant group in the area
and represents the UofA community very well.  If you want to start an
official UofA LUG, you'll need to review the university's rules
regarding clubs (for example, you'll need a faculty advisor).  There
is a university hacking club (I don't recall the name offhand); you
might want to talk with them about doing something jointly.

If you do decide to pursue your own LUG, I'd strongly recommend that
you maintain strong ties with TFUG.  Try to compliment, rather than
compete with, TFUG's offerings.  TFUG's got a good group of people but
we're all busy and can be pretty ruthless with where we spend out time
and energy.
