Yep

There is a MAKEDEV script in 
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/video4linux/bttv and that restored 
everything. Thanks. BTW, does anyone know how to get the remote 
controller for the TV tuner working? I modprobed the ir_kbd_gpio and i2c 
modules but it doesn't work yet. Right now I'm using my wireless 
keyboard as the remote but its a little inconvinient holding it in one hand.
