Actually the mouse lockups could be from Mozilla 1.3.x.

Sid packages are being compiled with the 3.2 compiler and most but not 
all of the packages have been recompiled.  Currently I haven't found a 
Debian package for the 3.2 compiled jvm for the Java plugin for Mozilla 
1.3 on Sid but it is available in a non Debian version.
