I have only used them under novell, but we are currently using 3c996T
cards, 64Bit PCI-X support (133MHz bus, down compabile to 33MHz 32bit
even).
I have one waiting to go into a server right now, that I can test under
Linux for you.
We are using HP Procurve 4000M switches with Gigabit cards. The only
problem with netgear (love them, use a lot of them), is right now, I don't
think they have any managed switches.
The 4000M is not really that expensive, and can support up to 8 Gigabit
ports per chassis.
