Thanks - the warnings I received pertained most to XP Home, and I seem to
recall that XP Pro devolved from Win2000 Pro (from WinNT) and is less a
nuisance that XP Home.  I guess I'll just forge ahead and see what happens.

The GOOD news is that my home office in Seattle is really irritated by MS's
new licensing scheme and is looking seriously at a Linux/Star[Open]Office
alternative.
