You're using Debian Potato (stable), which is pretty old and outdated.
Potato's latest Samba version is (and will probably remain) 2.0.7-5. To
fix this, you can either upgrade to woody (testing), or download Samba
packages from the samba project or someone who makes .deb's for samba (and
it doesn't look like the samba project does it).

To upgrade to woody, do an apt-get dist-upgrade woody (beware that I have
known it to delete web pages, break stuff, etc..., but it should be
allright). To download debs for samba, you could try using woody's
packages. Upgrading to woody would automatically upgrade it, too.
