Of course, you have no way of knowing the relative skillsets of the
folks writing each of these.  (I once used a assembler-compiler-linker
suite that spent almost 60% of its time in "strtod/atoi"!)  Is there
a range of implementation languages available for developers?  I.e.,
are they all forced to write code in Java?  Are the "offending"
apps/components all from similar "suppliers"?

[One reason I picked Limbo/Inferno for my scripting app was
because it was *so* much more efficient than Java!]
