[Tfug] Slightly OT: Weird home networking issue

Here's a head scratcher...Home network looks something like this -

CenturyLink DSL modem/router - (straight through CAT5) - > 8 port
10/100/1000 switch

For some reason, the switch drops connectivity to the router after several
minutes. I've setup a continuous ping in my terminal, and I can see the
drop. I don't have much of an explanation, though - I've tried a new
switch, reset the router, and checked the cabling (both devices are
auto-mdix compatible, so no need for a crossover). The wireless clients
don't seem to have an issue; once they're up, they're up.

Anyone deal with something similar before? Any ideas?

Thanks!
