Cinelerra,
Is a high-end professional video editing open source s/w package
that is typically used in the context of movie production farms. I thought
it was too complex for my own needs. That's why I chose to install kino.
I don't have my video-processing box running right now, but for my
server:

erich at jdud2 /proc/sys/kernel $ cat shmmax
33554432
I wouldn't want to install video processing on my server. It has
only 500M of memory.
