GPU is the ATI X1700 more or less - called the "FireGL V5250" with a
different driver in Windows, but the open source ATI drivers just treat it
as an x1700.

No compiz yet, I'm working on that.  Might have to wait for Maverick - I'll
prolly update at beta1.

Yes, the 1680x1050 was a late entry on the T60p - IBM/Lenovo's first
widescreen.  It's the same height as the 14.1" T60p, just wider.  I like
it.  I considered the 1600x1200 4:3 ratio screen but it has an interesting
flaw: very slow update times, so bad you can't play a first person shooter
at all :).  What I have is shaped to fit my current really nice laptop
backpack, and I think it would still fit even if I score a 9-cell extended
battery.
