Move your /home onto a separate partition and mount it from both OS's.

That'd be the cleaner way, but if for some reason you don't want to move
/home to a different partition, you could just leave it as is for the
current disk and mount it somewhere, say /media/otherdisk in the new
install. Then you could either use a link /home -> /media/otherdisk/home or
just set the homedirs for the user to /media/otherdisk/home using 'usermod'.
Not sure which is better.

One thing to watch out for is making sure the userids are the same for both
systems. Otherwise things get mucky.
