Depends on the model.

I have an E510 with a replacement ATX supply in it, and it works just
fine.   Cabling is a bit of a mess compared to the original supply.

BTW, if you really want to verify, Dell has the power supply specs in
their service manuals, which you could compare to the ATX spec.
