[Tfug] windows to linux

I was trying to save money by not having to buy a new laptop and seeing if 
my old one would run with Linux.

So, "arduino" is an overloaded noun:  a piece of software
(toolchain?) *and* a physical device?

Why not just develop under Windows (since I suspect
that "package" runs "out-of-the-box")?
