[Tfug] windows to linux

just looked at docs--  this Linux box isn't connected to the network, so 
I've been tryng to download rpm's to a thumb drive and installing them 
over.

Doesn't the "package management tool" (whatever) have a
mechanism whereby you can ask it what dependencies exist?
The *BSD packages let you see what you will need (both
in terms of files that will have to be downloaded as
well as "built") before you buy into a particular app.
