Bowie,

The odds that any given PC from, say, Pentium III/500 horsepower on up
can run Linux from a major distro approach 99.999%.

The odds that any given PC built within the last three years can be
"Hackintoshed" is what?  2%?  Less?

You can SET OUT to build a Hackintosh if you want.  You cannot however
look to OSx as an escape route for people already in the Windows trap
if they want to keep their current hardware.
