Yeah, I thought of trying something like an iPaq or some other
variety of wireless PDA for starters. But, the screens seem to
be pretty small (like 3, maybe 4" at the outside?).

After the usual ad hoc messing around on Google, I stumbled
on the keywords "smart display" -- which *seems* to be what I
am looking for -- though it seems to be a technology MS
approached and then, like so many other MS (mis)adventures,
abandoned. I suspect the bandwidth of the wireless link
may have been an issue as 802.11b was en vogue at the time
and that would be stressed to handle MS's bloated approach to
most things! ("Gee, lets just send the entire screen image
at 60Hz refresh rate...")

Two products pop up (using that search): Viewsonic V110 and
V150. Near as I can tell, they are just two different size
versions of the same beast. The V110 is closest to the (high
side!) my desired screen size (10" vs. my 6-9" sought).

They use MS's RDP to paint screen images, etc. Anyone have any
idea how bloated this is? (i.e., running it on a bandwidth
restricted link). Is it somethng easy to set up? Is it
something I can use *beyond* the MS world (or, would that be
a function of how cleanly the client side was implemented?).

Anyone have or used/toyed with a V110 or V150 to give firsthand
feedback?

Thanks!
