Why not set her up with a service that's completely web-based? Then
you won't have to mess with FTP/SCP/SSH to get the updated files
online, and she can edit her site from any computer at any time.
Google Sites and Moonfruit come to mind for full sites, or WordPress,
Blogger, and Posterous for just blogs.

Posterous, in fact, is extremely simple in that you just email
post at posterous.com and they take care of the rest. Seriously. It's
pretty cool, and it handles any kind of attachment (photos, videos,
documents) you can throw at it. :-)
