When we buy new we tend to get low-end Dell and put CentOS on them. We
have used a 1400SC for last seven or so years (upgrading twice) with
almost no down time. We had an issue with RAID in an 1800 using an
earlier CentOS but everything works fine for us the last five years or so.

On the used side we like the HP rack mounts DL and ML series. Also
CentOS everything recognized.
