Excellent! This is both reassuring and distressing:
- reassuring in the sense that it suggests the problem
is not unique to my configuration (I was wondering
if I was running a defective application or maybe
something funky about the dual CPU configuration)
- distressing in that it suggests this is a flaw
in the "OS" (loosely using that to refer to the
OS plus apps/tools distributed with it) itself.

I note that I only see this problem on my one dual
CPU wintel box -- any *single* CPU systems running
the same software seem to work fine! :<

(sigh)

Micro, Soft; small, limp. :<
