Now *that* would make building cables easier (for
those of us who do it infrequently).  I'm not
sure if the "excess" is cut off coplanar with the
outer edge of the connector shell *or* if there is
a "slit" in the top of the shell for the knife to
cut the wires such that there are no "exposed"
ends...  Otherwise, I can see how keeping the
knife blade *very* sharp would be essential (to
eliminate "hairs" that can short out to each
other, etc.)
