Since all of these "appliances" are "wall-wart" powered,
I just rigged up a battery to feed them -- using a modified
wall-wart to then keep the battery charged.  I figure it is
more efficient than an inverter feeding a bunch of wall warts.

:-/

Unfortunately, it means I have to redesign the power
supply when/if I change any of these appliances.  :<
