Steve, yes.  When I did it, the install procedure involved installing
a bootloader through the game OS, and then booting from a fedora
install DVD.  Go to sony's website for the bootloader, and download a
fedora install disk (i think there is one exclusively for the PS3, but
if not, then it is probably the PPC one).  you need to setup a bunch
of add-on software, to take advantage of the the SPUs.  it's been
about a year since i screwed with this stuff, so caveat emptor.
