I don't know about easy, but if you want to be thorough:

If you have a kiln, and the platters are made from glass, you can melt them.

If the platters are aluminum, you can grind them.  I've heard that's how
Uncle Sam does the deed.  I've also heard that grinding aluminum can be
an "exhilarating" experience. ;-)
