If TFUG were a university club, it could reserve rooms. I do this with
another group, and we get entire auditoriums. All we'd need to do is find a
room in one of the buildings with the WiFi completed, then we could all
connect. If we really wanted to get hair brained, we could even configure
someone's machine as a wireless access point.
