[Tfug] USB

Jude,
I don't know if you are aware that I am using FreeBSD not Linux. I am quite
ignorant about
these matters. So I will ask you a few questions.

In my understanding OSS is actually
better quality than ALSA. Solaris 10 and FreeBSD will continue to use it.

Now in all reality there is a port
linux-alsa-lib-1.0.10.3
The Advanced Linux Sound Architecture libraries
Long description : Sources : Changes : Download
Maintained by: jylefort at FreeBSD.org
Also listed in: linux
Requires: linux_base-fc-4_10

Does it mean that I could use ALSA and ALSA drivers on FreeBSD. One thing is
when I run Linux programs and
plugins. Drivers are something different, although we use your drivers for
printers and webcam that has to be hacked first.

I am not sure if ESD is available for FreeBSD. These are the only sound
servers
paman-0.6_3

polypaudio-0.7_4 Default on the Gnome which I use

pulseaudio-0.9.6_3

wsoundserver-0.4.0_4

that I know of on FreeBSD.
Any suggestions are welcome

Predrag
