[Tfug] Audio/Video woes

I was actually trying to get Xgl running on it, so I have modular X:

X Window System Version 7.0.0
Release Date: 21 December 2005
X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 7.0
Build Operating System:Linux 2.6.17.6 i686
Current Operating System: Linux chimera 2.6.17.6 #1 PREEMPT Sun Aug 6
10:52:54 MST 2006 i686
Build Date: 14 August 2006
        Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org
to make sure that you have the latest version.
Module Loader present

For the record, and in case it wasn't clear in my last email: I want
it understood, that I think it is silly that anyone change
distributions just to fix a single problem that they are having.

The fact that my Gentoo is working well, should not be attributed to
the fact that it is Gentoo, or that it is mine, but that I have taken
the time to understand some of the quixotic nature of Linux.

That being said, I have no video problems, and X seems to be doing
everything it should be. Did you try following the "compiz" howto? I
couldn't actually get it working (xdm hangs up when starting Xgl), but
the X configuration was pretty easy, and Xgl works nested.
