[Tfug] cdrecord-prodvd and growisofs problums

I'm having trouble copying .iso files onto dvd.

I've burned onto my hardrive from both commercial dvd's and privately
recorded dvd's (television) using readcd and they play fine from the
hardrive using ogle. But when I burn the images onto another dvd I get
a tiny band of data on the dvd, it's about 1mm wide. What is that? I
assume that it's "Track 01" and maybe the menu?? I used both growisofs
(with and without the -dvd-compat option) and cdrecord-prodvd, and
that's what I get. See (a) below.

When I try to play that data, I get the message (b) below.

I burned the privately recorded dvd .iso from the harddrive onto dvd
using /something/, I got a fully burned dvd, but using ogle the same
message (b) and it also doesn't play. The originals play fine using
ogle, as does the .iso on the harddrive.

Is there a way around these problems, I'm not sure I've been able to
burn a dvd copy yet; like, can I begin recording after a certain number
of bytes? Or begin play beyond a certain number of bytes?

Thanks

Charles
