Actually, I find that tab separated data is very common. Many programs
that export data in plain text allow you to specify the delimiter. In
fact, most of my CSV files are tab delimited.

I could have sworn I did this once with something like file->import in
OOcalc, but I can't find it now. I just googled for it, and came up
with a thread that ended in the fairly useless resolution: "mv foo
foo.csv; oocalc foo.csv". That's Dumb (tm).
